Synopsis
The middle of the meadow is a chapbook written and illustrated by author and printmaker Vanessa McKiel. In the namesake short story, a woman recalls small childhood memories which help her move through grief. The story is bookended by two poems and includes nine linocut prints of wildflowers.

Vanessa McKiel has worked as a tree-planter, an outward bound instructor, and a family doctor. Now she is a printmaker and writer. Her work has appeared in The South Shore Review. She lives in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia. Website: vanessamckiel.com Instagram: @vanessa_mckiel
