Community-building Micropress
Little Books Collective
The Little Books Collective is a community-building micropress that focuses on chapbooks and collaborative publishing. We are based on the South Shore of Nova Scotia, Canada.

Our Collective is an initiative of a Spot of Poetry, an open-door gathering for poetry and word lovers, hosted at the Lunenburg Branch of the Southshore Library
Our Little Books include poetry, short fiction, memoir, and whatever lands in the hazy in-between. Our books are mostly handbound with textured paper and elegant design; a delight to read and hold.
Through craft workshops and collegial reviews, we embrace the communal nature of creativity (or what artist/writer Austin Kleon calls an “ecology of talent”) and we are committed to developing and strengthening our individual and collective practice. We learn by doing and each member participates in all phases of the development, publishing, and distribution of our publications.
We collaborated for the first time in 2023, when twelve of us gathered to embark on a collaborative journey, made possible, in part, with funding from the South Shore Awesome Foundation.
We wrote, we learned, we reviewed, we edited, we designed, we printed, we bound, and we launched our books into the world.

Thank you Awesome Foundation for funding our Little Books Collective
August 2022. Incredibly thrilled that Spot of Poetry was awarded a second Awesome Foundation $1000 give away! It is always a priviledge to pitch longside so many awesome ideas. Thank you to all the trustees and all the other presenters!
This amazing gift funded the 3 workshops for the Little Books Collective facilitated by local poets, Alice Burdick, Tricia Snell, and Ben Gallagher. The remainder of the funding was put toward a launch party that included author readings.
